As a fan of the popular CBS series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, this interactive attraction was an absolute must for every aspiring investigator. In 2017, at the MGM Grand Hotel on the famous Las Vegas Strip, my son Niklas and I had the opportunity to step into the role of “Special Agents” and investigate three different criminal cases in order to uncover the truth.

Three murders, fifteen suspects, and three perpetrators — just like in the television series, the challenge was to collect evidence, analyze DNA traces, and question witnesses in order to solve each case as quickly and accurately as possible. As part of the forensic team, we examined bullet impacts, matched DNA profiles to potential suspects, and worked our way step by step through the investigations.

The attraction required active participation and offered an impressively realistic experience, with 15 forensic laboratory stations, three autopsy areas, and a dedicated reporting station. After successfully completing our investigative work, we were awarded the coveted “CSI Diploma.”
